DOUBLE CELEBRATION AT EDS COURIERS

A Cannock-based courier firm is celebrating a double awards success, having picked up two accolades at this year’s Cannock Chase Business Awards.

EDS Couriers, part of the APC Overnight network, was awarded the top prize for ‘Excellence in Contributing to the Community’ and was also highly commend in the ‘Excellent to work for’ category.

Judges singled out the Bridgtown-based firm for its outstanding support for local community groups, which has seen staff, organise the delivery of baby clothes to South Africa, volunteer support for local scout groups, and run local football tournaments for community clubs, over the past 12 months.

EDS Couriers was also recognised by judges as one of the best companies to work for in the region, with an overwhelming majority of its workforce of 67 Staff having been at the company for 7 years or more. From giving an annual intake of local school leavers the opportunity to hone their skills under the stewardship of an experienced management team, to ensuring all staff has the opportunity to sample different roles within the business, the company was deemed to have created an outstanding workplace with highly motivated employees.

The Cannock Chase Business Awards is a not for profit enterprise created to give outstanding businesses in the area some recognition for their hard work. The Awards ran for the first time in 2012 and were repeated for a second year having prompted excellent feedback from local companies.
